If you need to start using propane for your home, you will find a variety of heaters when you start shopping. To help you, below are three types of propane heaters available on the market so you can make a good choice of what would be best to heat your home for you and your family members.

Forced Air Heater

A forced air propane heater uses natural gas to heat the air that is inside the heater. A fan that is installed inside the heater blows the warm out of the heater and into the room. One thing to consider with this type is the fan can make a lot of noise. You also always have to keep the fan clean because if you do not dust and other debris will blow out of the heater along with the warm air. A forced air heater works great for small areas, such as for heating one room in your home. Read the instructions that come with the heater on how to clean the fan.

Radiant Heater

Radiant propane heaters work well to heat a small area, such as a bathroom or bedroom in a home. The heater heats up flooring or walls. Emitter tubs are installed in the flooring or ceiling. The radiant heater is attached to the tubes. When the heater turns on it sends a signal to the emitter tubes to heat up.  With this, the radiant propane heaters work best to heat uncarpeted flooring. With this type of heat, you can step out of your bed in the morning and step onto a warm floor instead of a cold one.

Convection Heater

There is a heating element installed inside a propane convection heater. Air heats up as it flows through the heating element. A fan is also installed inside the heater to circulate the air into a room. The fan allows more air to flow through the convection heater which increases the heat more. This works well for smaller spaces. You will often see convection propane heaters used in wall mounts or often used to heat patio areas.

You can also purchase a larger convection propane heater to heat large areas inside your home. If you want to use this heater inside, however, make sure what you purchase can be used on the interior and exterior of your home.
